LVZL has been around since 2010 when Jeff Grindley and Stephanie Seiler were welcomed to set up a few shelves inside the Beat coffee shop in Downtown Las Vegas (Thanks Mike!) to share a small collection of zines.
What started out as sharing a personal collection grew into a massive one thanks to donations from local zine lovers and one HUGE donation from Frank DeFrancesco donating the former Balcony Lights zine library collection (the lights are always on in our hearts!).
Over the years we’ve had a few different locations (one of those was in our closet), hosted events and workshops for the community about zines and diy publishing.
We are now nested within the walls of the Marjorie Barrick Museum of Arts on the campus of UNLV. This space is welcoming and full of creative energy that maintains regular operating hours and a great staff so you can access the collection easily.
